How to play longer: real settings that save battery

How to play longer: real settings that save battery

June 15, 2026 · Lukas Vogel

Every mobile gamer eventually watches their battery percentage nosedive mid-session. Good news: most games hide a few settings that genuinely help, if you know where to look.

Frame rate is the big one. Capping a game at 30fps instead of 60 can meaningfully extend playtime, and for slower genres you honestly won't notice. Turn it down first before anything else.

Turning off background animations and particle effects helps more than people expect, especially in casual and puzzle games. Casinacho Play, for instance, lets you disable animations entirely and it measurably reduced drain on our test phone.

Brightness is boring but true — dropping it a notch does more than most in-game toggles combined. And close the game properly when you're done; some titles keep churning in the background.

None of this is dramatic on its own, but stack three or four of these and you'll get a noticeably longer session out of the same charge.
