Emberfall Saga
Emberfall Saga is the kind of RPG that clearly knows people play on phones in short chunks. Battles are turn-based, you can queue actions, and there's a fast-forward toggle for fights you've already figured out. The story isn't Shakespeare, but the characters have enough personality that I kept reading the dialogue instead of skipping it.
The party-building is where it shines. You mix classes, swap gear between characters, and there's real payoff to experimenting. Touch targets are large and the auto-battle is optional rather than mandatory, which I appreciate.
Battery is the one caveat — the animated backgrounds run the phone a bit warm during long dungeon crawls. Dropping to the medium graphics preset fixed most of that without making the game look bad.
What we liked
- Deep but readable party system
- Optional auto-battle done right
- Medium preset saves noticeable battery
